Welcome to the LUMI-CON INVITATIONAL!

On this page, you will find information on all Standard and Invitational tournaments LUMI-CON will be hosting for this year’s event!

Whether it be console or PC tournament gaming LUMI-CON aims to satisfy your tournament needs for the weekend!

If you want to know exactly how our Invitational will work, please see the bottom of this page for details and how we’ve set up a lucrative prize structure for you!

Friday 2:00 PM

CAPCOM Vs SNK 2 EO TOURNAMENT RULES(Standard Tournament)

  • Game version: US PlayStation 3
  • Single Elimination
  • Default settings
  • Ratio Game
  • Bracket system at random
  • Winner must keep team but may change order
  • Random stage select
  • God/Ultimate Rugal, Shin Akuma, Evil Ryu, and Orochi Iori are banned

 

Ultimate-Marvel-vs-Capcom-3

Friday 3:00 PM

Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Tournament Rules (Standard Tournament)

  • Game Version:  Xbox 360 console.
  • 3 out of 5 games for a match set in pools and semis.
  • Grand finals consist of 3 out of 5 games.
  • After a game has concluded, a winner must stick with the same team and order for the next game.
  • Loser has the option of switching team and order
  • Game breaking glitches are banned.
  • Galactus is banned.
  • Turbo button features NOT allowed.
  • Pausing a game will result in forfeit of that round unless the opponent chooses to waive this option.

SUPER SMASH BROS MELEE TOURNAMENT RULES

  • The tournament will begin with 4 player Free For All single elimination rounds until 8 players remain
  • Game version: US Nintendo GameCube
  • Game Settings: 4 Stock, 8 Minute Time Limit, No Items, Pause Disabled, 2/3 Games. Free For All elimination rounds will have the same rules but with 10 minutes.
  • Starter stages: Yoshi’s Story, Fountain of Dreams, Final Destination, Battlefield, Dream Land.
  • Counter-pick stages: Pokemon Stadium.
  • Wobbling is legal. Freezing and infinite stalling are not legal.
  • The first stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
  • Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects a character.
  • Following stages decided by winner banning one stage from all stages and then loser choosing.
  • Any matches that are best of five, there are no stage bans.
  • You may not choose a stage you have already won on unless mutually agreed to.

  • Game Settings: Versus Mode, 99 Seconds, 2/3 Rounds, 2/3 Games, No Handicap
  • Legacy Controller Mode is banned.
  • Training Stage, Skies of Honor, Flamenco Tavern, and Kanzuki Beach stage are not tournament legal.

  • Spamming is not allowed.
  • Any glitches are not allowed.

SUPER  SMASH BROS. 4 TOURNAMENT RULES

  • The tournament will begin with 4 player Free For All single elimination rounds until there are 8 players remaining.
  • All games will be played on the default settings, unless otherwise specified, below.
  • All macros available via the in-game controller configuration menu are allowed.
  • Hardware programmable input entry, rapid-fire, or other hardware assisted mechanisms are strictly forbidden.
  • Accidentally pausing the game at any time during the fight will force you to forfeit the round.
  • Any player using “Random Select” to pick their character, must “Random Select” again if they win the match, provided that there is no way to pick a certain character in the random box.
  • Nintendo 3DS, 2DS, or WiiU gamepad as gamepads are not allowed.
  • Game version: US Nintendo WiiU
  • Game Settings: 2 Stock, 6 Minutes, Custom Moves Off, Items Off, Equipment Off, Handicap Off, Pause Off, Damage Ratio 1.0x, 2/3 Games. Free For All rounds will have the same rules but last 10 minutes.
  • Allowed Controllers: Nintendo Gamecube controller, Wii U Pro controller (battery removed method with USB), and Wii Remote variation (player MUST remove battery upon completion of set or will be disqualified)
  • Mii Fighters On (1-1-1-1 Default Guest Miis)
  • Amiibo’s are banned.
  • Stages: Battlefield [Dream Land 64], Final Destination [Ω Midgar, Ω Suzaku Castle and Ω Wily Castle], Lylat Cruise, Smashville, Town & City
  • First stage is decided by (Rock Paper Scissors) best of 1. Winner may choose to either strike a stage first or select a port first. Stages are struck in a P1-P2-P2-P1 order. Free For All round stages will be randomly decided by judges unless players can agree on one.
  • Following stages decided by winner striking one stage from all stages and then loser choosing.
  • Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects a character.
  • You may not pick the last stage you have previously won on during the set unless mutually agreed to.
  • You may not play on a stage that is not on the available stages list. This will result in a double disqualification.
  • If a game ends with a self-destruct move, the results screen will determine the winner.
  • Sudden Death with tied percentage/stock will result in a 1 stock/3 minutes playoff match.
  • There will be no loading anything on to the tournament consoles.

TEKKEN 7 TOURNAMENT RULES (LUMI-CON INVITATIONAL)

  • Game version: US PlayStation 4
  • Game Settings:  2/3 Games, 60 Seconds
  •  the match will be random stage select.
  • There will be no customizing colors, names or items at any time before or during a tournament match. Any player that does so will be given a loss.

 

TOURNAMENT ENTRY FEES:

 Weekend/Game room pass holder entry fees are $5 per tournament. All fees collected will be used towards the pot of each title listed with LUMI-CON (starting each pot at $20) Tournament Fees are waived for all VIP/FOUNDER Pass holders!

 We will also be offering a $20 Ultra Combo package that includes entry into all LUMI-CON tournaments, that saves you a whopping $35!

LOOT:

All First Place winners will receive a custom medallion to signify their victories achieved in the tournament won as well as the pot collected for the game title(s).

But that’s not all!

ENTER THE LUMI-CON INVITATIONAL!

At LUMI-CON we believe YOU are the stars of our conventions and the primary reason game rooms thrive! You’re the reason we are allowed to return and host these amazing events year after year and we want to give you the same opportunity!

As a LUMI-CONs 2018 INVITATIONAL Champion, you will receive a LUMI-CON 2019 placeholder!

This means as a first place winner you are automatically given a chance return to LUMI-CON the following year to defend your game as the final boss, So it’s Champion Vs Champion!

If successful in a title defense, Not only do you walk away with another medallion, you also get a VIP PASS for next year, the prize money and granted another automatic return for our biggest prize yet!

When a returning 2X champion defends their title for a third consecutive year, they will be awarded a Special Medallion, Prize money, A LUMI-CON VIP PASS, ULTRA COMBO PASS and named King/Queen of LUMI-CON GAMING receiving a complimentary two-night hotel stay courtesy of LUMI-CON!

So let’s break that down again!

1: Winning your first tournament:

Earns you a Champions Medallion, Prize money, LUMI-CON Weekend pass, an Ultra Combo Pass and an invitation to defend your title the following year!

2: Defending your title successfully the next year:

Earn yet another Champions Medallion, Prize money, A LUMI-CON VIP PASS, an Ultra combo pass and an invitation to return a third time for a chance at our grand prize!

3: Defending your title and winning a 3rd time:

Earns you a Grand Champions Medallion, Prize money, A LUMI-CON VIP PASS,  Ultra Combo Pass and (2) night Complimentary hotel stay at LUMI-CON for that year!

We’re making it worth your time to be a part of our tournaments, the only question is are you confident enough to go the distance and win it all!?        

 

All Runner-ups will receive:

A Lumi-con weekend pass for the following year and The Ultra Combo Fee waived so you can train and try again!
