Jenny Trent Bio
Since she was four years old, Jenny Elaine had a fascination with trying to make her own clothes. She would gather every textile she could find; from paper, to felt, to other various cloth materials, but didn’t have a clue how to sew. It took her over 20 years to muster up the courage and try her hand at sewing.
Within one year of teaching herself how to sew at age 27, she debuted her first cosplay at MetroCon 2013 and competed in the costume contest as Maka Albarn from Soul Eater. Since then, she has been awarded three major cosplay competition awards, including Best in Show at ShadoCon 2016 and Best in Show at two separate Supernatural Conventions (2016 and 2017). She has also received numerous Judge’s Awards. Nothing makes her happier than debuting a new costume and seeing the priceless reactions on people’s faces; whether it’s hysterical laughter or the awestruck facial expression from a character they love and admire.
Cosplay is her life. She believes that it is truly a rewarding experience to dress up as an iconic character and not only bring that character to life but to connect with people that share the same interest while making new friends. With each year, she continues to challenge herself with a more over-the-top goal than the previous year, and she’s just getting started.
